Drei shows a two-artists-presentation between Canadian-Italian artist and filmmaker Rosa Aiello (b. 1987) Austrian painter Matthias Noggler (b. 1990), both of whom based in Berlin. Noggler’s work has long been characterized by the appropriation of various historical references and painterly styles. While he previously focused on the figurative depiction of social conflicts and other group dynamics, his new series of paintings turns to exemplary spaces of modern socialization, such as the apartment block, shopping center, or backyard.
Rosa Aiello works in a range of styles from animation to documentary collage to cinematic narrative, as well as architectural installation and photographic series. She takes an experimental approach and uses what is at hand, in her domestic space, in her relationships, on her habitually used streets.

Rosa Aiello was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 1987. Her works have been shown at numerous international art venues, including Fridericianum, Kassel; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Kunsthalle Zurich; Pirelli Hangar, Bicocca; ICA, London; Anorak e.V, Berlin; Kevin Space, Vienna; Cittipunkt, Berlin; and Sculpture Center, New York, a.o. They are included in the collections of Frac Lorraine, Metz; The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and The Centre Pompidou, Paris, a.o.

Matthias Noggler was born in Innsbruck, Austria, in 1990. He lives and works between Vienna and Berlin. He graduated in 2016 from the class of Julian Göthe at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. Recent exhibitions and contributions took place at Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, MoCAB, Belgrade (2025); Dom Museum, Vienna (2024); Layr, Vienna (2024, 2022 solo); Drei, Cologne (2022, solo).
