At Liste 2025, Margot Samel presents a two-person presentation with Gina Proenza (b.1994 in Bogotá, Colombia; lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland) and Annie Hémond Hotte (b.1980 in Montreal, Canada; lives and works in Brooklyn, New York). Proenza and Hémond Hotte’s work navigates the intricate relationships between nature, myth, language, and perception. Proenza’s work builds on her recent series at the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, referencing 15th-century lawsuits against insects. Hémond Hotte’s “Labyrinth Women” series reflects on the cyclical nature of existence, with mirrored figures creating repetition and evoking a fractured sense of time, identity, and the connection to the earth.
