Whistle and SHOWER's In the Living Room at Liste 2025 reimagines domestic space amid South Korea's 2024 short-lived martial law declaration. Whistle presents Kyoungtae Kim (b. 1983) with photographs that explore modes of observation and perception; SHOWER showcases Yonsok Yi (b. 1995) with ritualistic paintings interrogating histories in objects. Together, they frame the living room as a threshold between intimacy and scrutiny, probing where private life ends and collective experience begins.
Kyoungtae Kim (b. 1983, Korea) received his BA from Chung-ang University and his MA from École cantonale d'art de Lausanne. Using techniques like focus stacking to blur scale and perspective, he transforms everyday objects into abstract images. His work has been shown at venues like the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
