Addis Fine Art presents a solo booth of large scale canvas works and smaller works on paper by Ethiopian artist Engdaye Lemma. The booth is an immersive exploration of urban existence, as seen through the lens of his innovative printmaking practice, synthesising screen-printing, painting, and collage. By drawing inspiration from ethnography and the daily rhythms of Addis Ababa, Lemma invites viewers to explore the overlayed textures of city life.
Engdaye Lemma (b. 1980) was born and raised in Desse City, Ethiopia. He studied Print-making at Alle School of Fine Arts and Design in Addis Ababa, where he now teaches. He has exhibited in London, New York and Nairobi. His work explores urban life.
