For Liste 2024 we propose a site-specific installation by Joana Escoval comprising a group of sculptures made with different combinations of metal alloys and elements from nature. We envision this proposal as a medium for the sonic realm, which is at the base of all Escovals’ work, not only as an expansion of its environmental aspects but also energetic systems of organisms: resonating from nature to objects and back to the world.

Joana Escoval (b.1982) is a Portuguese artist based in Lisbon. Recent exhibitions have been held at SMAK Museum in Ghent, Museum Colecçao Berardo in Lisbon or Kestner Gesellschaft in Hannover. Her artistic practice establishes an idiosyncratic relationship with nature in which the notion of transformation becomes essential.
