In a presentation spanning painting, jewellery and sculpture, Arlette explores ideas of craftsmanship, coalescing her Mexican heritage with the history of Swiss precision and excellence in artisanal design to create work that responds to the fair’s locality. Through a playful approach to medium and an engagement with craft, ornamentation and the decorative arts, the presentation embodies her playful critique of the art world, interrogating the art fair as both a retail space; challenging the hierarchy often imposed on art and fashion.
Arlette (b. 1998, Mexico City) lives and works in Guadalajara. She received her BA from Central Saint Martins (2022). Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include: Luxury is personal (with Martine Syms), anonymous hosting Rose Easton for Condo CDMX (2024) and José, Rose Easton, London (2023)
